Fred bids emotional farewell to Manchester United in heartfelt video message after securing £13m move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce

Manchester United midfielder Fred has released a heartfelt thank you and goodbye video ahead of his £13million move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.

The Brazilian midfielder leaves after five seasons in Manchester, joining in 2018 for £52.5m from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, but leaves for just £13m.

The 30-year-old suffered inconsistent patches of form throughout his tenure but still comes away with 33 goal contributions in 213 appearances.

He has since released a video message full of highlights and clips of his interactions with fans in an emotional farewell to Old Trafford and its faithful.

Fred also writes an accompanying message describing his honour and privilege to play for United, passionately describing himself as ‘forever a Red’.

Fred’s message writes: ‘Thanks for everything, Manchester United Football Club. Today ends one of the most beautiful stages of my career.

‘I lived the dream of wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs in the world. Going through ups and downs, I leave with the conviction that I always gave my best during all training sessions and games.

‘It was five years of a true dream for me and my family. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Forever a Red! ❤️ ‘

He was reportedly told by manager Erik ten Hag that he was unlikely to play a significant role for United going forward following the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60m.

The Brazilian also missed the preseason tour of the United States after being given time away to deal with a personal issue.

United kick off their Premier League campaign against Wolves on Monday night, while Fred’s new club Fenerbahce take on Gaziantep Sunday evening.

Fenerbahce won the Turkish Cup last year and the Brazilian will hope to add to this accolades
