PM Narendra Modi Kerala visit LIVE: Prime Minister unveils multi-faceted infrastructure projects in Tamil Nadu

The Prime Minister is set to lay the foundation stone of the Outer Harbor Container Terminal at V.O. Chidambaranar Port, marking a significant step towards the port’s evolution into a transshipment hub for the East Coast.

Additionally, under the Harit Nauka initiative, the Prime Minister will launch India’s maiden indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate tourist facilities in 75 lighthouses spanning across ten States/Union Territories during the event.

Among the key unveilings, the Prime Minister will dedicate rail projects for the doubling of the Vanchi Maniyachchi – Nagercoil rail line, including the Vanchi Maniyachchi – Tirunelveli and Melappalayam – Aralvaymoli sections. With an investment of approximately 1,477 crore, these projects aim to enhance connectivity and reduce travel time for trains heading towards Chennai from Kanyakumari, Nagercoil, and Tirunelveli.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will dedicate four road projects in Tamil Nadu, developed at a collective cost of about 4,586 crore, further bolstering the state’s infrastructure landscape.
