Brunch at the Intercontinental in Park Lane has a spring in its step! – Your Harlow

WE think this might have been the first day of spring as we walked towards the InterContinental off Hyde Park.

We say walked as we made the brunch our mid point on a lovely Sunday late morning in London.

We walked across from Tottenham Court Road, through Soho, China Town and on to Shaftsbury Avenue, then onto Piccadilly until we got to Park Lane.

We just wanted to recommend that whether you are staying at the Intercontinental or just visiting London, then this is the perfect halfway point.

With a lovely welcome from the staff at the restaurant, we settled into our seats in what is an airy, well proportioned restaurant.

This was a brunch where families, couples and friends could all feel comfortable and catered for.

Of course, it was now 2.30pm so we decided to start with a lovely glass of champagne.

We followed that with a light starter. We selected a lovely salmon and prawn combination that was set off with a selection of meats.

However, we soon went for Eggs Benedict. We weren’t the only ones and no wonder. It was perfect. It is an easy dish to get wrong but this was just right.

As we said, you can be in places where brunch can feel a bit rushed but not here.

And although it was limitless, you never felt like loading your plate. This was quality over quantity because it was quality.

The signature Sunday roasts were indeed special. At the heart was the Gloucestershire Beef Wellington and the Kentish Roast Chicken.

You could tell that visitors all over the world, in the heart of London, had never had anything like this.

This was definitely a case of having a little trip back to the roast station just to double check that the chicken really was that good! We were about to walk it off!

We finished with some lovely sweet treats that combined really well.

Our compliments to Executive Chef, Lalit Kumar, who really has created a wonderful selection for the Bruch that as they say is “fit for a king”.

Our compliment as well to manager, Fernanda, whose team worked seamlessly and very efficiently. Nothing was too much bother.

We then left to a surprisingly mild mid-February day and walked the wonderful brunch off.

We have many readers who come down to London for the weekend, grab a show but then want to organise their Sunday until they head back.

We recommend building the Intercontinental Brunch as part of all that London has to offer.

Priced at £69 per person (£35 for children under 11, and under 5 eat free), or £79 with a glass of Champagne or Bloody Maryon arrival, treat yourself to a sumptuous Sunday Brunch. To truly treat yourself, upgrade to 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco or Bloody Mary for £89 per guest.

Served at the hotel’s main restaurant every Sunday between 12:30pm – 3pm, bookings are now open at https://parklane.intercontinental.com/dine/sunday-brunch/
