Delhi News Live Updates (March 08, 2024): A probe has been ordered against a Delhi police officer for ‘assaulting’ people offering Namaz on a road in North Delhi’s Inderpuri in a video that has gone viral on social media. In the video, the cop can be seen kicking the people offering prayers, following which a protest erupted in the area. The police post in-charge was suspended with immediate effect following the incident.

Meanwhile, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, along with Bhagwant Mann, launched AAP’s Lok Sabha campaign on Friday, with the slogan “Sansad mein bhi Kejriwal, to Dilli hogi aur khush haal.” Kejriwal highlighted AAP’s achievements in Delhi, emphasizing free electricity and alleged obstruction by the BJP-led central government. Mann predicted a 13-0 win for AAP in Punjab and accused the Centre of withholding funds. AAP will collaborate with Congress under a seat-sharing agreement in Delhi, Gujarat, and Haryana, but will contest independently in Punjab. AAP will contest four seats in Delhi, while Congress will contest three. They have also finalized candidates for certain constituencies in Gujarat, Haryana, and Assam.
In other news, To make daily travel comfortable for people, especially those who use multiple modes of transportation such as auto, bus, Metro and cab, Delhi Transport Department is soon going to start a ‘single journey ticketing’ system. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot said the scheme will provide a hassle-free commute to people. “It will be an all-in-one trip,” he added.
