Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to the blaze at a pub with flats above it in Pond Street, Hampstead, at 10.38pm on March 30.

The London Fire Brigade says three women left the building before crews arrived. They were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Firefighters used a 32-metre turntable ladder as an observation tower during the blaze.

The incident was over for firefighters at 12.06am.

Five flats on the second floor with a shared kitchen were destroyed.

Firefighters from West Hampstead and Kentish Town fire stations attended the scene.
