Health Warning Issued For Los Angeles County Beaches
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles County health department officials are warning swimmers and surfers to avoid several beaches this week due to elevated bacteria levels in the water.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health issued an Ocean Use Warning, noting that the bacteria levels in recent water samples are elevated, increasing the likelihood that beachgoers could develop respiratory infections.
The department collects samples each week monitor bacteria levels. With the first rainstorm of the season set to land this week, bacteria levels all along the coast are expected to increase due to rain runoff from surface streets washing out to the ocean.

Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey
The entire swim area.
Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach
100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
Hermosa Beach Pier in Hermosa Beach
100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.
Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro
The entire swim area.

These warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested.
