People: Ronshine Chairman’s Son to Run Property Mgmt Unit – Mingtiandi


Director resignations at a pair of mainland China real estate companies lead this week’s list of personnel moves from around the region, as developers continue to reel from that country’s property crisis. Also in the news is Barings naming new leadership for their Asia Pacific property business and L’Oreal annointing a new head of northern Asia.

Ronshine chairman and CEO Ou Zonghong

Ronshine Service Holding said on 12 September that its chairman, Ou Zonghong, has resigned from the board effective from that same day, along with non-executive director Lin Liqiong. Ou is leaving the board of the property management division of Fujian developer Ronshine China Holding to make way for his son, Ou Guofei, 30, who was appointed as an executive director and chairman of Ronshine Service on that same day.

Chan Cheuk Yin AgileAgile Group Holdings said on 15 September that Chan Cheuk Yin has resigned from his non-executive director role on the company’s board and is also stepping down as vice chairperson, in order to devote more time to other commitments. In July of this year Chan, who is the brother of Agile Group chairman Chen Zhoulin, was required by the Hong Kong stock exchange to attend 18 hour of training in a disciplinary action resulting from violations of rules governing listed companies during his time at the Guangdong-based developer.

Charles Weeks BaringsBarings announced this past week that Charles Weeks, head of real estate portfolio management for Europe and Asia Pacific at the investment bank, is retiring this year, with his role being split between a pair of successors. Australia-based Alastair Wright, who leads Barings unit Altis Property Partners has taken over the bank’s Asia Pacific business since earlier this year, with James Salmon given responsibility for Europe.

Vincent BoinayL’Oreal Groupe said on 14 September that Vincent Boinay is being appointed president of north Asia and chief executive of China for the French luxury brand from January next year. Having been with L’Oreal since 1992, Boinay is currently general manager for travel retail worldwide for the company and takes over the Asia portfolio from Fabrice Megarbane, who will be retiring at the end of January.

Maan Huey LimMaan Huey Lim is now tax leader real estate with the asset and wealth management division of PwC in Singapore, according to a LinkedIn update. The PwC partner received her new designation recently after more than 22 years with the firm, where she has specialised in tax financial services. She has led the real estate tax practice since July 2018 and is also the co-chair of the tax working committee of the Singapore chapter of the Alternative Investments Management Association.

Karan KhanijouKaran Khanijou has rejoined the hotels and hospitality division of JLL in Bangkok as a senior vice president responsible for investment sales, Mingtiandi has learned. In his new role Khanijou will cover regional markets including Korea and Vietnam after previously serving as head of investment with CP Future City Development Corporation, a division of Thai conglomerate Charoen Pokphand. He previously worked with JLL in Bangkok from 2011 through 2019.

Tan Li Lian CDLLi Lian Tan has resigned from her role as group chief human resources officer with Singapore’s City Developments Ltd effective 30 September, according to an announcement by the SGX-listed heavyweight. Tan is leaving CDL just six months after joining the company following a more than 12 year stint at airport service provider SATS, where she had served as chief human capital officer until joining the developer in March.

Lee LinLee Lin has joined Nobu Hospitality in Bangkok as regional director for Asia Pacific, according to a LinkedIn update. Lin started into his new role with the US hospitality firm this month after more than four years with Thai liquor baron Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi’s Asset World Corporation in Bangkok as a managing director. Lin also has previous experience with Blink Design Group in Bangkok.
