Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge modifies payment policy for lightsaber

Star Wars fans looking to build their own custom lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will now be required to pay the full amount at the time of booking. This change marks a departure from the previous policy, where payment was due upon arrival at the location.

Savi's Workshop in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge offers an immersive experience where fans can construct personalized lightsabers, guided by a group known as the Gatherers. These artisans, deeply embedded in the lore of the galaxy, operate in a secret workshop teeming with eclectic parts and relics collected across the universe.

Guests at the workshop start their journey by meeting a Gatherer outside the hidden location, choosing from one of four hilt themes: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, or Protection and Defense. Each theme offers unique components that reflect different aspects of the Star Wars universe, from Jedi temples to elements that embody the Force.

The construction process involves selecting a kyber crystal—the heart of the lightsaber—in colors of red, blue, green, or violet, each color with its own significance in Star Wars lore. Builders then assemble their hilt with a variety of provided parts according to the chosen theme. Once completed, a 31-inch blade is attached, transforming the hilt into a full lightsaber ready for adventure.

Savi's Workshop overview

The price for each lightsaber is $249.99 plus tax, and full payment is now required upfront during the reservation process. Each builder is allowed to create only one lightsaber per experience and must be at least five years old. Guests under 14 require the company of an adult. The experience also restricts attendance to the builder and one guest, who is not permitted to build a lightsaber.

Additional customization options are available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for those wishing to further personalize their creations, although these are not included in the initial fee.
